Hi there, I'm Bec Roldan, a chemist-turned-science journalist.

I'm an independent science journalist covering general science, public health, and science and society.

Previously, I served as a 2023 AAAS Mass Media Fellow at National Public Radio and received my PhD in chemistry from the University of Michigan in 2024. 

 

When I'm not writing, you can usually find me baking, playing the banjo, or watching women's basketball. ​​
